How fees are calculated

The legal work involved in buying or selling a property varies depending on what’s involved. For example, there is a base fee for the sale or purchase itself, then extra fees if there’s a mortgage involved, or a trust or company. There are also fees associated with home and land packages/new developments, and first home owner documentation such as Kiwisaver or Kainga Ora paperwork.

Sale and Purchase Fees

Buying

Conveyance up to $950k – $990 plus GST and disbursements

Conveyance from $950k to $1.3m – $1200 plus GST and disbursements

Conveyance over $1.3m – $1400 plus GST and disbursements

Conveaynce over $2.3m – please get in touch

Registration of mortgage (if any) – $490 plus GST and disbursements

Kiwisaver, Homestart, Trust or Company (if any) $260 plus GST and disbursements

Each additional discharge mortgage – $340 plus GST and disbursements

Company / Trust / Other entity / Guarantees – $260 plus GST and disbursements

Refinances

Refinance – Contact us for low fees for Aug to Dec 2022

1 refinance by itself (1 registration and 1 discharge mortgage) – $880 plus GST and disbursements

Each additional discharge mortgage – $350 plus GST and disbursements

Company / Trust / Other entity / Guarantees – $260 plus GST and disbursements

Wills, Estates and Powers of Attorney

Simple Will (i.e. no trust) – $520 plus GST and $40 disbursements

Will where a trust is involved – $1040 plus GST and $40 disbursements

EPOA’s – $350 each or if a couple who get both each then 4 for $1,200 and $40 disbursements

Trusts

Family Trusts – time and attendance but estimate as follows:

Setting up a Family Trust – $2,100 plus GST and disbursements

Setting up Family Trust plus moving property to Trust – $2,600 plus GST and disbursements
